Ray Greenwood elected Trustee of the EABF

The EABF is delighted to announce that Ray Greenwood L.LM RGN has been appointed a Trustee of the Fund. Ray has been serving on the Executive Committee of the EABF for just over a year and his medical background and experience in serving numerous charities has already been of enormous benefit to the EABF.

Ray Greenwood qualified as a registered general nurse at King’s College Hospital, London in 1972. He undertook post basic qualifications and worked in a number of London Hospitals as a clinical nurse before becoming Director of Nursing at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford in 1982. In 1985 he was appointed to the Department of Health as Nursing Officer for acute services, palliative care and cancer. From 1991 until 2003 he held senior director posts in the NHS and Department of Health. In 2004 he left the Department and was appointed Chief Executive of the St. John and Red Cross Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS). He left this post in May 2011.

Ray has a keen interest in medico – legal issues and in 2003 graduated with a Masters degree in Medical Law from Cardiff Law School, University of Wales. He is married to a nurse and has 5 adult children.
